The radiant cut — square with cut corners, faceted with the brilliant-cut geometry of a round diamond — is one of fine jewellery's smartest modern hybrids: it has the architectural shape of an emerald cut with the explosive sparkle of a round brilliant.

What is a radiant cut diamond? A radiant cut diamond is a square or rectangular diamond with cut corners and brilliant-style faceting. Created in 1977 by Henry Grossbard, the radiant combines the architectural shape of an emerald cut with the sparkle of a round brilliant — making it one of the most brilliant non-round diamond cuts available.

How is a radiant cut different from an emerald cut? The shape is identical — both are square or rectangular with cut corners. The difference is the faceting. Emerald cuts use step-cuts (long, parallel facets that produce slow, deep flashes of light). Radiant cuts use brilliant-style faceting (smaller, multi-directional facets that produce explosive sparkle) Visually: emerald reads architectural, radiant reads sparkling.

How is a radiant cut different from a round brilliant? The faceting is similar (both brilliant-style), but the shape is different. A round brilliant is circular; a radiant is square or rectangular with cut corners. Both deliver maximum sparkle — the radiant simply gives you that brilliance in a more architectural, geometric silhouette.

Will a radiant eternity band sit alongside my engagement ring? Yes — the slim 4mm band is built to nestle alongside engagement rings without competing for attention. The radiant cut works particularly well with engagement rings featuring brilliant-style centre stones (round, oval, cushion, princess), but pairs beautifully with step-cut centres too.

What's the difference between half and full eternity? A half eternity has diamonds across the front of the ring only. A full eternity has diamonds set continuously around the entire band. Half eternity is more comfortable, easier to resize, and slightly more affordable. Full eternity reads more luxurious and is the original symbolic form.

How many diamonds are in this ring? The version pictured features 9 radiant-cut diamonds at 0.15ct each. The exact number will vary depending on your ring size and half-or-full eternity choice — a full eternity will require more stones to span the entire band.

Can a radiant eternity band be resized? Half eternity bands can be resized like standard rings. Full eternity bands are more difficult to resize because there's no plain metal at the back to work with — but we can usually adjust within a small range.
