The bar setting — vertical metal pillars between each stone — is open and architectural, letting light flow through both sides of every diamond and adding quiet luminosity to the line.

The mixed-cut alternation is what makes this band quietly remarkable. Round brilliants share the language of brilliant-cut engagement rings; baguettes share the geometry of step-cut engagement rings — so together they pair seamlessly with whichever style sits next to them. What is a bar-set eternity ring? A bar-set eternity ring holds each diamond between two small vertical metal bars, rather than wrapping around the stone like a claw setting. The result is an open, architectural look that lets light flow through both sides of each diamond — making them appear larger and more luminous. Bar setting is one of the cleanest, most contemporary settings for an eternity band.

Why are baguette and round brilliant cuts alternated? Combining baguettes (step-cut, geometric) with round brilliants (faceted, sparkling) creates a visual rhythm — long-short-long-short — that catches light differently to a row of identical stones. Practically, the mix also makes the band remarkably versatile: round brilliants share the language of brilliant-cut engagement rings, while baguettes share the language of step-cut rings, so the eternity pairs seamlessly with either style.

Will this eternity band sit alongside my engagement ring? Yes — the slim 2mm profile is built to nestle alongside any engagement ring without competing for attention. The alternating cuts mean it pairs beautifully whether your engagement ring features a round brilliant, oval, emerald, Asscher, princess or pear-cut centre.

What's the difference between half and full eternity? A half eternity has diamonds set across the front half of the ring only. A full eternity has diamonds set continuously around the entire band. Half eternity is more comfortable to wear (no diamonds under the finger), easier to resize, and slightly more affordable. Full eternity reads more luxurious and is the original symbolic form.

Can a bar-set eternity be resized? Half eternity bar-set rings can be resized like standard rings. Full eternity bar-set rings are more difficult to resize because there's no plain metal at the back to work with — but we can usually adjust within a small range. We recommend confirming your size carefully with our diamond concierge.

Can I wear this as a stand-alone ring? Yes. This design is also part of our fine jewellery collection — equally beautiful as a stand-alone statement ring on any finger, beyond its role as a wedding band or anniversary ring.
