Why choose

lab diamonds?

"Lab diamonds are not fakes. They’re not cubic zirconias. They have all the same physical and chemical properties of a mined diamond"

Stephen Morisseau – Gemological Institute of America

Sustainability

Luxury that doesn’t COST THE EARTH

Those words are much more than a clever marketing catchphrase. They have meaning for us on several levels.

When it comes to buying diamonds, Deltora Diamonds are the responsible, future-proofing choice. We want to end the devastation mined diamonds cause to the environment and the wellbeing of people involved. We want to create transparency and trust in an industry where beauty has traditionally been valued above ethics.

When you buy a cultured lab grown diamond, you’re wearing a dazzling symbol of sustainability. You’re telling everyone who checks out your ring that you care about having a positive, beautiful impact on the environment, humanity and your bank balance.

We believe that every woman deserves Diamonds. Big Rocks and Beautiful Jewellery.

The short answer? You get a bigger rock for your budget, the origin is guaranteed and it’s fully certified by GIA or IGI. Without taking away too much of the romance, the long answer is it’s important you understand the science behind your diamond.

By 2025, it’s estimated 30 per cent of the world’s diamonds will be lab created. Anyone with a conscience and love of quality chooses them because they’re flawless, ethical, sustainable and don’t hurt people or budgets. But before you buy, you need to know about the two types of lab diamond: premium and non-premium.

Why Choose A Lab Diamond?

It’s the same as the difference between a Chanel handbag made from superior leather and a high street brand using inferior leather. Deltora Diamonds only sources premium diamonds which are CVD grown, classified type IIA.

They’re created in a compression chamber using a slice of mined diamond, with only carbon being rained down. No other trace elements are introduced, which means they have a pure crystal structure—unlike mined or non-premium lab diamonds.

Humanity

Historically, the mining of diamonds has created major human rights issues. Our diamonds have provenance. You know the origin, history and authenticity when buying a Deltora Diamond. Our cultured diamonds are created in high tech laboratories and hold unquestionable provenance with no impact on humanity.

The Environment

Mining for diamonds impacts the environment. It can result in land degradation and soil erosion detrimental to the local environment.

Growing a diamond in a lab setting with abundantly available carbon and renewable energy has a low impact on the environment with little to no harm to ecosystems or wildlife.

Growing diamonds is certainly energy intensive but the impact on the Earth to grow lab diamonds is a fraction of the impact of diamond mining. Man-made diamonds are driving positive change within the entire diamond industry by making people and companies accountable to our environment.

Our diamonds have no carbon emission, and cause no damage to the surface of the Earth. We only source our lab diamonds from renewable foundries. They are the responsible choice.

MONETARY

Lab grown diamonds are 30-50% less expensive than mined diamonds, allowing you to get a bigger better quality diamond. All our diamonds are classified Type IIA, which puts them in the top 1-2% of diamonds. They are of optimum quality.

Even though grown diamonds require almost an equivalent amount of resources, money, time and energy, they are more economical.

This is a fast growing industry. We are seeing not only the younger generations as clients but the more discerning customer opting for a cultured diamond which is bigger, better and value for money.
